If you said YES to all three points, then the advice in this thread is for you

1. Ebooks:
This thread is about launching EBOOKS
Not businesses, software, or other products.

2. You Work Alone:
If you work alone, you must learn to be very disciplined with your tasks.
You work alone. Do one thing at a time.

3. You Don't Have Money:
If you don't have any money to outsource tasks, then it's even more important that you focus on one thing at a time.
Be very disciplined with your time & focus.
This is much harder to do in reality than it sounds.
But you have to try

4. Successful Ebook Launch:
Writing an ebook & launching an ebook are two VERY different tasks.
Remember how important FOCUS is? One thing at a time.
+ Write a high-quality ebook. Give it all your time & energy
+ When the ebook is done, THEN promote it
So far so good...

5. Crossroads:
Until here, most people can follow the thought process.
But for some reason, this is the point where misunderstandings happen.
For many of you, this is a crossroads.
So let me answer as many objections as I can.

6a. Others Do It Too...
The biggest objection is "But I see XYZ announce the ebook before writing it and it works fine for them"
How do you know it's not written, yet?
When I release my ebook, I will announce it as if it's not written yet (spoiler alert)
It's a strategy.

6b. Others Do It Too...
There are many ways to succeed. I'm NOT describing the ONE & ONLY way.
Big accounts have money & experience
But...
If this is your first time launching an ebook then you will be much better off doing it with this strategy: Write first, promo later.

7a. Proof:
Another objection is "I want proof that my audience has interest in this ebook".
Okay, so how do you safely test your idea?
Most commonly, you announce and/or pre-sell your ebook and see the reactions.
But what if you don't like the reactions?

7b. Proof:
Here's the problem...
You announce the ebook, see your audience is not hyped, and then just don't write it?
Or worse... you pre-sell the ebook, don't get enough orders, cancel it, and refund all pre-orders?
Both are horrible scenarios!!

7c. Proof:
First: If you don't know what your audience wants, then you shouldn't be writing an ebook in the first place
Second: Hype is not something that happens automatically
You CREATE hype around your ebook
It isn't something you casually do on the side the 1st time

8a. Risk:
I get it. You're scared to write an ebook and see it fall flat.
So here's the process on a high level. Do it one step at a time:
+ Research
+ Write
+ Promote
+ Launch
"What if what I write is not good?" Do this process one step at a time and it will be good

8b. Risk:
Entrepreneurship means taking calculated risks, right?
Writing an ebook, you risk wasting time, sure
But writing a 50 pages PDF is definitely NOT a big risk
And you can always update your ebook in hindsight if it turns out you really missed some important things

9. What Is Promo:
Promotion means launching your ebook from start to finish.
Examples:
+ Announcement
+ Sneak-peeks
+ Progress updates
+ Pre-orders
+ Countdown
Hype it up

Announce it as if you've only just had the idea!
(Nobody knows your ebook is already finished)

10. Momentum:
If you have an audience that cares about your content, then announcing your first ebook is an exciting day.
It will create momentum for you.
+ Keep posting updates
+ Share sneak-peeks
+ Take a limited number of pre-orders
The journey is important...

11. The Journey:
Take your audience on a journey
+ Idea for the ebook
+ Table of contents
+ Writing the ebook
+ Designing the ebook
Take them on the whole journey from beginning to end
You can do that EVEN THOUGH your ebook is already written
Sorry for repeating

12. Too Much Talking:
When you start your ebook, you will be super hyped up about it.
And you risk talking more about the ebook, than you spend time actually writing it.
It's CRUCIAL that you avoid this trap. How? Finish writing your ebook before you say a word about it...

13a. Recap
You work alone, your time is limited.
If you write & promote simultaneously, you'll end up doing a mediocre launch at best.
Creating hype is much easier when your ebook is already written & you spend all your time promoting it.
Promo: Pre-sale, sneak-peek, etc.

13b. Recap
Things you can do in your promo:

In this thread, I tried to answer questions & objections that I've received for posting a tweet that said:
"Write your ebook before you ever announce it"
I hope this has answered many questions.
In addition, I highly suggest you google for the "Product Launch Formula."
