#MushroomsOfIndia..Could anyone tell if these r edible? Look &smell good like #OysterMushrooms, But hv grown on dead Mango Tree. Plz visit d thread time to time. It'll be updated wid information on #mushrooms, #truffles& #fungi wid intent of knowledge sharing &further research.
I MAKĘ CLEAR THAT WITHOUT APPROVAL of an EXPERT who is 100% sure, they shouldn't b collected as could be POISONOUS.
Identifications acc to my Gradma-bt d rules hv some exceptions
1.Avoid mushrooms wid bulbous/sack-like base.

2.Avoid wid a skirt or ring on stem.
3.foul smell

One of my elderly auntie who lives in a remote village, collected & prepared d dish for us, when we went to visit her.
The gills underneath cap r removed b4 cooking as they taste a Lil bitter, but rest portion is tasty.
(Not aware of its botanical name so a bit embarrassed)
4. Avoid the ones if you can peel the cap.’ If u can peel, u should stay away.
5. Avoid the ones with round top
6. Avoid vibrant coloured/ red colour on top or stem.
(though exceptions r there & u could miss out a few good ones, but by this rule one could stay safe)
Ever wondered why #Truffles r found near Sal trees? These grow from spores that live underground in a #symbioticRelationship with #SalTrees. The #fungus helps d tree extract nutrients from d ground & d tree provides d  #Truffles with carbohydrates to grow.
