In 2012, a 12-year-old Navaruna Chakravarty was kidnapped from her home in Muzaffarpur.

Months later, her skeleton was recovered from a drain near her house.

The family accused Gupteshwar Pandey of intimidation and defaming their elder daughter to discredit them. CBI took over.
As per the family, Navaruna’s abduction was part of a land Mafia ploy to purchase the plot, they had built their house on.

Gupteshwar Pandey was the IG of Muzaffarpur at that time.

Abhishek Ranjan, the main petitioner kept complaining of receiving threats from Pandey’s men.
Abhishek Ranjan also alleged that Gupteshwar Pandey kept indulging in the character assassination of victim’s sister, linking Abhishek and her to discredit the family.

Pandey was also examined by the CBI in 2014 in this abduction case that remains unsolved till date.
Navaruna was murdered in 2012, CBI lodged an FIR in February, 2014 after yrs of public outcry.

The first major action was taken by the CBI in April, 2018 when it arrested six people: Vimal Agarwal, Rajesh Singh, Brajesh Singh, Vikrant Shukla, Mohammad Shah Alam and Abhay Gupta.
Eighth deadline received by the CBI in Navaruna Chakravarty’s case was dishonoured in November, 2019.

In simple words, the agency is applying for extensions till today.

This thread is in no way to point fingers at anyone but Navaruna’s family deserves closure too.
Some friends are asking, why to raise this today!

I ask, why not today? In fact, today is the best day to talk about Navaruna as nobody can brand this “Call for justice for Navaruna” as an attempt to discredit Gupteshwar Pandey as the SC has already delivered its verdict.
