Nothing could be further from the truth! In 2011 Cabinet papers released showed that in 1981 she actually did meet the IRA during the hunger strikes.

And she was by no means the first or the last Tory to do so!

In 1969 the British Army met senior figures from the IRA. (5/14)

Back and forth, year upon year, the Tory Government and MI6 met with senior members of the IRA including Martin McGuinness and Gerry Adams.

In later years the Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles all met Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness. (6/14)
