Game companies/publishers need to remember that 'good will' is a thing.

Once you use all yours up, nobody is going to buy your game. Every bad sequel, every time you insult your consumers, every broken promise, every excuse to squeeze money out of people, diminishes good will.
CDPR released two large, impressive DLCs with lots of care put into Witcher 3 and released free DLC too. They respected their fans and audience

And that translated to Cyberpunk being one of the most hyped games of the decade and people tolerating several delays from the company.
GoT just announced a new, free mode nobody was prepared for. How much good will do you think that will create?

People remember this stuff. They reward it.

They also remember all the times you've abused, insulted, manipulated and exploited them.
