i think we can talk about biphobia without claiming lesbians have some sort of “monosexual privilege” because it implies that lesbians are privileged on the SAME axis by which we are systemically oppressed and that doesn’t really make sense, even in an intracommunity context

there is a lot of biphobia (and panphobia! and transphobia!) in the lesbian community and we HAVE to talk about it in order for things to get better, but most lesbians WILL shut down at the term “monosexual” bc it implies that we are oppressors on the sole basis of being lesbians

also, my friend @lustinglesbo did an excellent thread on this final point, but “monosexual” is a VERY reductive way to describe lesbianism, which has historically included a variety of gender identities and has never just been “binary feminine woman loves binary feminine woman”
