1- BOOK

I’m starting with the most popular one, @tomi_adeyemi’s young adult novels “Legacy of Orisha” a movie is also coming.

2- COMIC BOOK

Malika Warrior Queen is a graphic novel created by the founder of YouNeek Studios a Nigerian writer named Roye Okupe.

They also released an animated pilot in 2019, go check it.

3- BOOK

Daughters of Nri, a novel written by @renikamayo

4- COMIC BOOK

Niobe a series of graphic novels. Created by Darell May, Sebastian A. Jones and Amandla Stenberg.M, it will be adapted on screen by HBO.

5- GAME

Aurion: Legacy of Kori-Odan. Available on Steam developed by Kiro’o Games a Cameroonian Developer.

6- RPG

. @WagaduChronicle is an online afro fantasy RPG developed by Twin Drums. They haven’t released anything. I love the arts on their ig page. I advise you to follow them on social media and to check their website for news.

7- BOOK

Akata Witch by @Nnedi . It’s a young adult novel. I would say it’s more Urban’s fantasy because it’s taking place in our world and not in a fictive world.

8- BOOK

If you don’t really like YA and you like GOT or adult fantasy I heard that The Rage of Dragons is perfect for you. It’s an adult military fantasy novel written by @EvanWinter based in Xhosa culture. Bonus it has dragons!

9- BOOK

Black Leopard, Red Wolf is the first book of The Dark Star Trilogy written by @MarlonJames5. It’s also an adult fantasy book.

10- COMIC BOOK

Muntu Warriors is a webcomic about black super heroes and you can download your FREE ebook by clicking on the link in their Instagram bio (in French and in English). It was created by Junior Macdonals Beckley a French artist.

Not out yet but I found this one a few days ago. The Chronicle of the Jali is an upcoming book series. Follow them on Instagram and join their newsletter for updates and news.

Hopefully one day I will add myself and my own afro fantasy book series to this thread and I’ll be successful and shit.
