The most commonly endorsed barrier was the inability to afford care. LGBTQ-specific barriers included concerns around being outed, not having their LGBTQ identity understood or overly focusing on their LGBTQ identity, and not finding a provider who was LGBTQ

One in three transgender and nonbinary youth stated that they didn’t receive desired mental health care because they didn’t feel a provider would understand their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Among the 84% who wanted care but couldn’t access it, more than half said that cost was a prohibitive factor." https://www.statnews.com/2020/08/18/lgbtq-youth-mental-health-care/
"Research shows that access to supportive peers consistently protects against anxiety and depression. And further, LGBTQ youth who report having at least one accepting adult are 40% less likely to attempt suicide." https://info.primarycare.hms.harvard.edu/blog/lgbtq-youth-challenges-covid-19
