Revisiting and Reviewing Journals. (a thread)
1. Heartbreaker.

This song has always been my favourite song from him, the pain, the storytelling and vocals alone set the tone of the hearbreak project. The beat is smooth, easy like butter.

10/10.
2. All That Matters

Beautiful guitar riff throughout, Justin tells it like it is. Lyrically very charming and enticing. He was on his simp shit but I respect the hustle. Song is very laid back, nothing more, but it did what it needed to do.

8.5/10
3. Hold Tight.

Vocally his best song on the entire project. Started talking about sex, (love to see it). The beat was very smooth and let Justin take over. The song is GOATED.

10/10
4. Recovery.

Trust is broken between the two and he is praying for a successful recovery. Put his heart on the line with some cute strings, I don’t like the chorus. But the song isnt bad.

7/10
5. Bad Day.

I love how candid he is on this song, exposed how the relationship ended at the time. Short and heartfelt. I wish it was a little longer honestly.

8.5/10
6. All Bad.

He said what he said. He’s not the villain. I love the songwriting, the beat could’ve had more sizzle. But overall a very chill song.

7.7/10
7. PYD.

Underrated. I’m SICK of the PYD slander. Justin said what he SAID. Could’ve done without the Kelly feature. But overall a babymaker bop.

7/10 (with kelly). 8/10 (justin alone)
8. Rollercoaster.

BOP BOP BOP BOP BOP. Loved the structure of the song because it mirrored the rollercoaster of a relationship. Great placing on the album as we needed a jazzy tune after the slow jams. (Another rollercoaster)

9/10
9. Change Me.

The piano let him do his job, It’s honestly such a lullaby. Beautiful lyrics. @justinbieber you outdid yourself here.

9/10
10. Confident.

Picks up a little pace, whoever produced the beat, ily. Justin talking his shit. Chance’s verse was very well matched with Justin. I loved the bassline.

10/10
11. One Life.

Justin on his simp shit again, I’m not mad about it LMAO. Kind of a skip but I can listen if I want to relax. I love the etherial nature but Its not for everyday.

7/10
12. Backpack

Loved the space references and metaphors to relate it to a girl being an alien crash landing on earth. I love love love the lyrics. Lil Wayne’s verse was short. The guitar solo and outro>

8/10
13. What’s Hatnin’.

Future took over way too much it became his song, but when Justin sang he stole the show and made it good. Kinda wish it was just him.

7/10
14. Swap It Out.

Brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it.

10/10. Period.
15. Memphis.

Justin rode the beat, Sean never fails to amaze me, he easily was the best feature. Loved the melody of the song and the overall vocals.

9.5/10
16. Flatline

Loved the lyricism. The song is a great finish to a heartbreak album. There aren’t always happy endings. The relationship has killed him. Flatline.

10/10
Overall this album was an emotional rollercoaster. Relistening I’m very proud Justin was very open and honest about himself with us considering our ages at the time, after going through pain like this I can appreciate this album immensely.
