1) On the absurd and dangerous fantasy promoted by some "leftists" and "radicals" that, when it comes to foreign policy, Trump is anti-war.

Let's count the ways Trump is a dangerous war-monger

A thread 👇👇
2) "America First" is not an agenda of isolationism. It's an aggressive, unilateralist“—we go our own way, fuck the confines of traditional imperialist alliances & diplomacy”—imperial project, infused with the fascist ideology of the "superiority" of white christian civilization.
3) Trump has massive increased military spending. The military budget Trump submitted earlier this year was the largest since World War 2 (in comparable dollars).

The biggest increases are for nuclear weapons, including expanded weapons-production facilities.
4) The Trump regime's 2018 Nuclear Posture Review lowered the threshold for the U.S. to drop a nuclear bomb on an “enemy." And in February 2020, the U.S. put its first (and newly developed) low-yield nuclear weapons on submarines at sea.
5) Did Trump end Obama's drone warfare against countries like Somalia, Yemen, and Pakistan? No, he escalated it! And made it more secretive than ever.
6) Trump has practically ended arms control, pulling the U.S. out of three nuclear weapons-related treaties:

-Iran nuclear deal
-Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces treaty
-Open Skies Treaty

Trump does not want the U.S. to “tie its hands down” when it comes to nuclear weapons
7) Trump has Iran in the crosshairs. He's imposed harsher sanctions that have crippled the economy and preventing medical supplies from getting into Iran in the midst of a pandemic. He's built up the U.S. military presence in the Persian Gulf and escalated threats against Iran.
8) In January 2020 with the U.S. illegally assassinated Iranian general Soleimani at Iraq’s Baghdad International Airport, bringing the Middle East to the precipice of a major new military conflict.

If this is not war-mongering, than what is it?
9) Trump has brought U.S. support for Israel and its war on the Palestinian people to new heights. He has increased U.S. military aid, recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, and worked to shield the Israel Defense Forces from international criminal prosecution for war crimes.
10) Trump stepped up arms sales to Saudi Arabia, and sent U.S. troops there as part of the conflict with Iran. He's continued to back their savage air war in Yemen, and share intelligence and sophisticated weapons, as the Saudis target Yemeni schools and hospitals.
11) He's accelerated the war drive against China. In 2018, the Pentagon issued a Strategy report declaring that “great power competition,” not the “war on terror,” is now the main priority. Russia and China, especially China, were identified as the chief rivals to U.S. dominance.
12) This is the main factor behind efforts to reach an accord with the Taliban, & draw down forces elsewhere. Trump is not about peace, or “bringing the troops home.” His Pentagon is repositioning forces, especially to confront China, & preparing for a different kind of warfare.
