Seeing one of your idols diss a community you’re in really hurts and makes you feel like you’ve done something wrong when, in your opinion, you haven’t done anything. Even if their frustration isn’t directed at you but they’re talking with somebody else, it still hurts. A lot.
Yes, I am upset at the moment of writing this tweet. I’ll probably feel better in a bit tho.
Also, an add-on to this, it doesn’t even have to be somebody you look up to. Just somebody you admire because they’re good at something you want to be good at, say Art for example. Seeing somebody that you consider better than you diss a community you’re in hurts as well.
The downsides of me checking Twitter: I almost ALWAYS go down a rabbit hole that makes me upset because of how I see some people acting.
Oh, and the fact that somebody I really look up to is really open with their opinions and they dont like a community I’m in at all. To the point where they won’t accept it in another community I’m in. (No i’m not gonna say names, there isn’t reason for me to do that)
Kinda related, it’s basically this:
(And no I’m not saying they can’t share their opinion, I’m just trying to spread a bit of awareness that if you’re part of a community that some/most people are also apart of a second community that you don’t like, maybe try to understand them?
Tl;dr: I’m in a community that yes, I sometimes feel ashamed for being apart of because of how many people diss it, but I have my reasons. So yeah. Things hurt. Should be the end of this thread.
