Would hybrid owners be as obnoxious as regular pet owners? Like would Izuku have a million photos of wolfhybrid!Bakugo posted all over his social media?

"LOOK AT THOSE BEANS! I can only get pictures of them when he's sleeping but aren't they the cutest!"
Now I'm getting ideas with Brutus and Pixie - Only it's Bakugo and Ochako. Bakugo is a former combat hybrid, Ochako is an adorable ray of sunshine cat-hybrid Izuku had before he adopted Kaachan.
Kirishima was an old, school friend of Izuku's that decided to join an elite combat unit that trained hybrids to go into the field and he ended up bonding really well with a troublesome (read high maintenance) wolf-hybrid!Katsuki.
Kirishima /loved/ Katsuki. He would spend all his time with the hybrid, even his off time with him. And begrudgingly, the irritable hybrid would admit he could tolerate the obnoxious redhead. He'd even allow to take photos and send them to his friends back home.
They would work together to train other hybrids and go on missions into active combat zones. It was good, fulfilling work and the Katsuki prided himself on being the best.

Until one day, everything went wrong. Katsuki wakes up in a hospital and can't find Kirishima.
He's frantic, pulling, biting, and clawing at the restraints keeping him in bed while he calls out for Kirishima. Concerned for his safety, the staff give him a new sedative.

When he comes to again, he overhears the nurses discussing his case, and his handler.
Kirishima was fine. A little banged up and frazzled. But the idiot was fine. And apparently desperate to get Katsuki back by his side.
Katsuki however, wasn't fine. The shrapnel in his side had made surgery difficult and left him with a limp - something, he determined, would be easy to overcome. But the worst of things was his ears. He couldn't hear a damn thing unless it was spoken loudly and directly at him.
He was classified as unsuitable for duty. And because of his temperament, unsuitable for civilian life.
Their superiors would have him put down, citing him as a danger. And Kirishima. Kirishima would have to take a new partner. One that was inferior to Katsuki. One that wouldn't have his heightened sense of smell. One that wouldn't pick up on the subtle shit Kirishima does.
One that doesn't know that the idiot would forget to drink water while reprimanding him for not drinking enough. One that doesn't know that the idiot would take a hit for him, rather than let his hybrid partner get hurt.

One that he will replace him.
The thought of Kirishima taking another partner hurt more than he would admit. He would snap and growl at the redhead whenever he came to visit him. Even when his partner would reassure him that he was fighting the termination so he would be able to take Katsuki home.
It was a small gleam of hope that Kirishima left him with. That he would be able to take him home and let him live a civilian life. Even if he didn't believe it. He was trained to be a killer for the field, not to be a housepet. And the idiot.. would have to go back to the field.
But, to his surprise, his human - his partner - came through and was granted special permission to keep the retired and grumpy hybrid.

There was a lot to adjust to. Katsuki was used to working and he needed to be kept busy.
It only took a week of being home together for the hybrid to get bored and into trouble. It wasn't his fault he snapped at the stupid fucking mailman. He shouldn't have tried to touch his ears when he came out to grab the mail.
But eventually, they figured out a routine together that kept Katsuki out of trouble. He had already known that his partner was a slob, but his home was on another level. He spent his days training Kirishima rather than the other way around.
It was... comfortable. That was until Kirishima had to return to work.

The blond hybrid would spend his days tense, irritably running through chores and then waiting boredly for his stupid human to return home. Only for the idiot to come back smelling of another hybrid.
He knew that he would have to deal with it. He couldn't even retaliate and over-scent Kirishima before he sent the idiot back to work - it was Kirishima's job and he had to take a new partner. Overscenting him would just make shit harder. But it didn't stop pissing him off.
Slowly, he retreated back into himself, trying to make it easier to bear, for both of them. He still kept up with his chores and taking care of him. He just didn't greet him at the door anymore. He didn't lean into his touch when he'd pet his ears while they watched TV.
He didn't crawl up into bed and leech off his heat anymore.

Once in a while, when he thought Katsuki wasn't looking, the hybrid would see the frown and look of concern on his face.

"Stop it - I'm fucking fine"

"You'd tell me if something was wrong though, right?"
"As if - I said I'm fine."

He was thankful when he just let it be.

Until he wasn't fine. Because Kirishima's orders finally came in and he was shipping out within the week. A /week/. There'd hardly been any time for the idiot to get familiar with his new partner.
But they were expected to leave. And make it through together.

So when Kirishima brought the yellow, peppy fucking puppy home, Katsuki was not okay. He glared sizing up the bumbling idiot that was following around the bigger, bumbling idiot.
It only took a moment to get his measure: he was an insufficient and unacceptable replacement.

He waited until Kirishima left them alone in the room before he cornered the pup. "If you fucking let anything happen to that idiot, I will personally kill you."
"So, to ensure that he doesn't die. /I'm/ going to train you. And you better fucking pay attention."

For the whole week that he had them, he drilled the puppy - he thinks Kirishima called him Kaminari, but he didn't care. His name didn't matter, just training. He was brutal,
but the idiot seemed pleased that they were getting along.

The day before he was set to leave, he loaded them both into his truck and set out for a friend's farm. It was a place Katsuki was familiar with as shitty hair brought him with every time he wanted to visit his friend.
Katsuki was increasingly irritable as they got closer to the farm. Why the fuck were they going here when he had more training for them? Pulling up, the green-haired man greeted them all, smiling just like he always did, though this time... he looked odd. Almost sad.
Kirishima hugged him close before commanding him the old order to stay. That was odd. Shitty hair hadn't used those orders on him since he was released. So he stood beside Deku, as Kirishma gave him a hug and pat on his head before the redhead turned and got back into his truck.
/'Wait. Where was he going? No - he had another day! He had to train them still. He had to say he'd see him when he got back! He had to tell that stupid puppy to take care of him and make sure he hydrates. No! Where was he going? Why was he leaving him?!'/
The order broke as shitty hair started to drive away. Katsuki chased after him. Running as fast as he could to catch up, his limp forgotten as he pushed past the pain. He couldn't let him go yet. He had to say goodbye.
He couldn't hear Deku yelling for him to stop and come back as he took off after the truck. His lungs burned and his legs screamed but he kept running until he couldn't run anymore. He couldn't see the taillights anymore.
