White folks are really learning about black history through @HBO shows because our school system whitewashed our textbooks.

First it was the Black Wall Street Massacre on #Watchmen . Tonight people learned about sundown towns on #LovecraftCountry .

Sundown towns were all-white towns that posted signs warning black visitors to stay away after sunset. If a POC was caught in a sundown town after dark, they were beaten, arrested, and sometimes lynched.

Change “were” to “are” because sundown towns still exist.

In 2005, after I got out of basic training me and my buddy Jonesy were driving from Texas to California and we stopped at a diner somewhere in West Bumblefuck, Texas. We walked in and the record scratched. It was a scene straight out of an Eddie Murphy movie.
