About two decades late, I’ve decided to read, and then watch, the Harry Potter franchise. It’s nice to finally understand some of the dorky cultural references that have gone over my head since 4th grade.
Thoughts after the first book + movie:
•They really ought to wear helmets during Quiddtich
•Dumbledore needs some chapstick
•All of this is an awful lot to ask of an 11 year old

and also books > movies always, duh
Thru book & movie #4:
•Voldemort needs some serious therapy. This is an awfully long time to hold on to a grudge
•I obv love her but why doesn’t Hermione have any girl friends? (her best friend’s little sister doesn’t count)

•There seem to be NCAA-like quidditch rules that allow Viktor Krum to play for his national team while maintaining his amateur status at Beauxbatons
•How can you possibly teach/test/grade divination? What an unfair class
•I’m really not buying Harry & Cho Chang
•Is butter beer alcoholic? I know they’re European but aren’t these kids still rather young?
•Percy Weasley is a narc

•I wish the movies had included St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies & Injuries
•Is the Hogwarts quidditch season only 3 games long?
•Does anyone else think Moaning Myrtle looks exactly like Daniel Radcliffe in a wig?
•Luna Lovegood grows up to be Stevie Nicks

the night before my 1st day of 7th grade, I ran into the corner of a wall (long story) & had to get a line of like 5 stitches in the center of my forehead. The Harry Potter scar jokes were e n d l e s s
•Voldemort’s fingernails and toenails are the scariest part of the Goblet of Fire movie
•Longhaired Fred & George are the undisputed best version
•I love that Neville loves Herbology
•These movies must’ve been so so awesome to see in theaters
