There is a big disconnect between who the Democratic party says it is and who it really is. Corporate Democrats who still control the party co-opt the language of the progressive movement without actually supporting the policies.

They say “healthcare is a right” but don’t support Medicare for All.

They say “climate change is real” but don’t support a Green New Deal.

They say “black lives matter” but don’t support defunding the police.

Corporate Democrats talk the talk, but don’t back it up with policy.

And there is a very sinister reason why corporate Democrats co-opt the language of the progressive movement without actually supporting the policies: They want our votes but don’t want to fight for our policies because our policies help the people and hurt their corporate donors.
