So day one is a straight choice between Frank Quitely and @ShadeX6 - both artists I’d buy without knowing who’s writing the story. From Death to Shade to X-Men to Dr Strange, Chris Bachalo’s work has amazed and evolved and for me edges it
Day two and I would recommend We3

3 animals have military exoskeletons and break out from their base. Fantastic Quitely artwork and a script from Morrison that will break your heart https://www.amazon.co.uk/We3-TP-Grant-Morrison/dp/1401243029
Day 3 and it’s the best film of 2018, let alone best comic adaptation
Day 4 and it’s Bendis and Maleev Daredevil run. Still one of my favourites and no matter how familiar I am with it, it’s fascinating where the storyline goes
Day 5 and it’s the love story between Bigby Wolf and Snow White in Fables
Day 6 and my underrated comic is Low by Remender, Tocchini and McCaig. Concerns the travails and adventures of a family in a post apocalyptic subsurface world. Affecting and beautiful to look at

Day 7 and my comfort comic is Slaine the Horned God. Bisley’s best work, and the culmination of years of storylines. Amongst the death & destruction there’s commentary on the role of women in society, and the corruption when leaders outstay their welcome. Recommended
Day 8 and it’s Elektra:Assassin

@sinKEVitch art is mind blowing. The different styles (sometimes within the same panel) mixed with Miller’s plot gives an ethereal feel to the story
Some more of his gorgeous artwork
Day 9 and Weapon X by Barry Windsor Smith as my comfort story. An origin story that doesn’t explain absolutely everything and leaves seeds for future storylines. The broken narrative and luscious artwork is like the perfect fever dream
Day 10 and one of my favourite authors is Grant Morrison. Known for his counterculture and non linear narratives. Has tackled a number of different characters including revitalising the Doom Patrol and X-Men
Day 11 and my choice is uncanny x-men 205. Another Barry Windsor-Smith drawn issue, it’s a fascinating mix of body horror and lone wolf and cub. Spiral and the reavers v Logan in a snowstorm. Enthralling and wondrous
Day 12 and it’s Benjamin J Grimm. Someone that cares underneath their cynicism and hides it under a literal rocky surface. There’s even a reference to him in my bio
Day 13 and my favourite cover artist is Brian Bolland. Classic design and clean line work. Breathtaking
And some more gorgeousness
Day 14 is the same as Day 12, so Day 13 is The Immortal Hulk. Al Ewing reinvents the Hulk as body horror via Cronenberg and Carpenter, aided by Joe Bennett’s unsettling imagery. Allegories abound and rereading rewards you with deeper context. Highly recommended
Day 16 and aside from the ending of We3 mentioned earlier, I’d say Shade #50 or Sleeper season 1 number 10. Both deal with the death of long standing supporting characters that had grown to become important to the main character, which added to the shock of their death.
Day 17 and a favourite writer & artist team are Wagner and Ezquerra. Created some of the most iconic 2000AD storylines and imagery. Ezquerra’s art could lift any storyline
Day 18 and a comic that needs a soundtrack would be 100 bullets by Azzarello and Risso

Classic noir spy soundscapes segue into modern 80s classics to hip hop to NIN. Catching the vibe of the series as it flashbacks and deals with its modern day setting
Day 19 and I’ve picked Planetary 1. I have not only quoted Snow’s snark, but also it introduced me to the snowflake quantum theory
Day 20 and I like my villains to a) be complicated in their motivations, and 2) monologue like a motherfucker. So only one choice
Day 21 and a favourite comic movie is the 2012 Dredd film.

Really need that Mega City One tv show...
Day 22 and dream team up would be Mister Miracle and Jane Foster Thor, purely for when Barda and Jane meet
