I have (sadly) started to almost accept that government will continue down the path it sees ahead, without removing its blinkers.

I fear that we are in this until March. There is no way parliament will revoke the Coronavirus Act before this, due to fears about winter.

I've been doing my best by sharing information and statistics myth-busting, including the excellent work of people like @carlheneghan & @cricketwyvern, to name just a couple. I've been writing to my MP, and to other MPs who I know are most likely to rebel...
So why carry on tweeting about this? I don't know the answer. Perhaps to call out the way politicians use statics to lie. And use lies to produce statistics. I hope that this will go some way to help people see the damage we are doing.
I do believe that the PM continues to act out of a mix of fear & incompetence. I can see why it's easy for some people to see a conspiracy, but I don't. I see a PM who was very unwell implementing ALL SAGE advice as policy, without remembering the other health damage he's doing..
There certainly should have been more scientific consideration of the impacts of lockdown, and of all the other measures we continue to take. And there should certainly be more assessment of our actions and their consequences compared with other nations...
I am in awe of, and incredibly grateful to medical professionals including @SepsisUK and @ProfKarolSikora for their commitment to speaking out for the casualties of lockdown.

I am in no doubt that the actions we have taken will kill so many more than coronavirus...
... (without having actually protected those who were always most vulnerable - see tweets on care homes)...
I'm also thankful to those sticking their heads above the parapet for children & young people. It continues to astound me how govt ignore evidence from other countries about children, crucially on the negative consequences of school closures for decades to come...
It is dissapointing that more high profile people aren't speaking up, but they are beginning to.

And, as one Prof said to me recently, we will be on the right side of history.

(End).
(Ps. for anyone who would like to accuse me of hindsight, I was sceptical about the effects of a lockdown before it was implemented in March)
