i hope with the death of kissanime that more people will turn to p2p communities to pirate. piracy doesn't thrive when centralized services distribute the material to you, it thrives when we all distribute it among each other. torrents are (currently) our best method to do that.
PC (Windows/Mac/Linux) users:

Install http://mullvad.net  (always be connected when torrenting!) and http://qbittorrent.org , and download from http://nyaa.si  and play with http://mpv.io , http://mpc-hc.org  or http://videolan.org/vlc .

Android users:

Install http://mullvad.net  (always be connected when Flud is on!) and Flud (check Google Play), and download torrents from http://nyaa.si  and play them with mpv-android, VLC or MX Player.

if you download releases from http://horriblesubs.info  you're essentially downloading raw rips from various official sources. you can even set it up to auto-download new episodes with RSS feeds. http://nyaa.si  also lets you do that on your searches.
i tried to keep it simple and concise above, but i figured this all could use some explanation:
http://mullvad.net  🔒 is your protection. it's a program that for 5€/month makes it so that, when you're connected, your ISP can't see what you're downloading and other people can't track you back to your ISP, which would reveal your legal identity.
there's been some discussion if you can use another VPN service, and generally you can. there are many other services out there, many which are of questionable legitimacy...

some good resources:

informative video:
remember that the reason you use a VPN is to move your trust away from your ISP because you do not think they are willing and/or able to protect you. so you need to have a reasonable belief that your VPN is willing to and able to protect you.

personally i trust mullvad.
http://qbittorrent.org  🔘 or Flud💧 is the program that both downloads files from others and shares those files with others who are downloading.

to connect with others to download the files you need to either open a .torrent file 📑 or click a magnet: link 🧲 in your browser.
remember to always have your VPN connected🔒 while qbittorrent is running!

check that it doesn't sit minimized in your notification area but that it's shut down entirely.

although it's a good idea, if you have the data, to keep it running as much as possible. sharing is caring!
http://nyaa.si  🐱 is a community-run anime torrent library. it hosts the torrent files and magnet links that let you connect with other people to share anime between each other.

there are many other torrent sites which focus on various content, and other anime ones ofc.
http://mpv.io  🟣, http://videolan.org/vlc  🟠, etc. are video players. any player that works for you is good, but you want a reasonable modern one that can actually play the video files you download and is able to correctly display your subtitles.
hope this helps. if you have any questions feel free to ask.
