What is curious about the Progressive Left is their need to destroy any other ideology. For a group who insist Diversity is Strength, they will accept no views and opinions outside their own. Their "Diversity" is purely superficial. Fundamentally they require full Conformity.

The Soviet Union, as well as China, Cuba, and many other communist countries spent an enormous amount of funds and resources on spreading their ideology to all corners of the globe. If they had spent all of that on their own people, perhaps it would not have ended so badly.

In case you think this has stopped, it has not. In fact, the Western World is so submerged in Collectivist Propaganda, we are unaware of it.

Once a man saw a fish, and asked him: How is the Water? The fish asked: What water?

It makes you wonder: If Collectivism is so superior to Individualism and Free Market Liberty, why all the effort? Why do Collectivists spend so much of their resources and labour trying to discredit and destroy the alternatives? Shouldn't that superiority be obvious and apparent?
