Got a train yesterday for 1st time since March. I was terrified before I left - I& #39;ve been shielding for months and have barely walked anywhere. But it was so wonderful I could have cried. Outside the @ENBallet where I saw Mingella& #39;s gorgeous Madam Butterfly years ago.

The beautiful Quaker library inside here, where we used to go for peaceful 7.15am workshops with @writeandshine, breakfasting with those lovely writers who brightened my mornings.
I& #39;d never seen this sculpture on the fourth plinth before - I practically screamed with excitement! Just learned it& #39;s called The End by Heather Phillipson and some people are snooty about. Whatever. Good art makes you feel. And I felt utter joy for the first time in a long time.
A BOOKSHOP!

The lions I posed on as a toddler have never looked so majestic. But I& #39;m too old and accident-prone to climb up them now.
But there was a great deal of sadness when I saw familiar places closed. I used to buy delicious Sri Lankan tea from the lovely people at Drury on New Row. They had separate teas from different parts of my parents& #39; country. You can buy online, but I miss that interaction.
I& #39;m not gonna get a coffee, I thought. I& #39;ve been making good coffee at home. Then I saw The Espresso Room on New Row (Tim from @PostcardTeas recommended the Great Ormond St branch a while back) and I thought, while I& #39;m here... I& #39;ve never drunk a flat white so slowly & gratefully.
