One of the things social media has done to this generation is a heightened sense of outrage without the means to engage on issues. We are more eager to tweet than to learn.
A case in point was the challenges e-hailing taxi opetators were facing with the Lagos State government.
The initial responses were ludicrous.
Anyone who knew the challenges that Uber faced with the UK government over taxes would have seen this LASG engagements coming.

The private car model makes direct taxation difficult for an infrastructure designed for painted taxies.
It is an uncharted territory that require the parties involved to sit down and talk about how a fair tax on their income must come to the state.
We can't be outraged that some businesses are paying muiltuple taxes & still be advocating that others should pay nothing.
We can't constantly berate the Federal Government- or even sub nationals- about a development we don't agree with without first finding out what the issues are.
In the past, media houses offered this education freely. You knew what the issues are by reading or watching.
All of that is gone now.

There is a lack of enlightenment in places where knowledge and information used to thrive. I could pick up a copy of TELL magazine then and know in 45 minutes the 360 degree view on any issue.

Today, we can't even get the fucking headline right!
We have far too many people with access to the eyes and minds of people whose first intent is to entertain or outrage with the most salacious content.
So, we then create a populace that does not bother to know first before they talk.
