The person in the screencap is the one who completely fabricated a career for me in order to knowingly kick off a wave of harassment, and it looks like they’re continuing their trend of antagonizing trans folks by being identity cops. https://twitter.com/alexoxford3/status/1294526321037586432
One of the consequences of how millennial social justice activists completely misunderstood the concept of intersectionality is that now the next round of social justice discourse is basically an intense and hostile process of taxonimizing
This is why you get those nonsensical graphics with 45 different pride flags and nonsensical and neverending discourse about terms.
This flows directly from the mistaken belief that identity terms are labels defining organically-existing categories, and not communications aids to align our self-identity with a common understanding that other people can parse.
One thing about this discourse is that it is aggressively monolingual, monocultural, and contemporary. It only makes sense in a specific subset of people who can generally access online English language discourse.
Sexuality terms have long stopped meaning specifically only “what kind of person are you attracted to” and we even wield these terms every single time we joke about how gays can’t sit in chairs or how trans girls like pickles.
It’s also completely problematic to say that those cultural things flow entirely from sexual attraction! Essentialism is bad!
But when we get to the discourse we completely erase this and become intensely reductive, ignoring that people’s identities are inseperable from the communities they relate most closely to and how they want to be seen by others.

It’s fucking garbage, is what it is.
Finally, in conclusion:

the “bi” in bisexual doesn’t mean “two” anymore any more than the “eu” in “eugenics” means “good.”

Fucking deal with it.
