K, I’m going to talk about a subject that might piss people off. #DezNat
Have you ever heard the term “the same 10 people” (stp) at church in regards to callings?
You may have heard in circles or even said that the same 10 or 20 people get callings and you or others don’t. 1/
Do you feel skipped over or never called to callings that feel important? I’m going to share a huge piece of advice.
Ready?
Do you stay after activities and help clean up? Do you stack chairs? Do you arrive on time to church meetings? Do you volunteer to help the missionaries? Do you do your ministering? Do you offer to drive a new member to church because he doesn’t have a car?
Or
Do you turn down callings in primary because you are “holding out for a management position”? Do you ditch Sunday school to chat in the foyer? Do you refuse to speak in church when asked? Do you not show up when it’s your turn to clean?
These are some of the reasons you r not being asked to be in the “group”.
Are you wanted in this “group”? Heck yes! Those same 10 people r picking up your slack. They r staying late. They r doing the footwork. They r mowing widows lawns and doing their primary callings.
Please for the love of pete help moving the work forward. Please stick around and sweep the crumbs off the gym floor. Just help! Those same 10 people are the ones that do this. They are tired, they want it to be -the same 20 people- or 50 or 100.
If you don’t know how to start do as Gordon B Hinckley said, get on your knees and pray then get on your feet and work. Now is the time.
Start being involved. Help those who are doing the work. Their burden is heavy.
Rant over. Feel free to add to my list. I’m sure you guys know what I’m talking about.
