The constellations of the sky have fascinated people for thousands of years.

They are wonderful, beautiful, inspiring even.

But their greatest gift to mankind is...

Knowledge!

Deep secret knowledge hidden in plain sight for all to see!

// BEGIN THREAD //
Most of the ancient world believed their gods lived above them and in some cases below them - in hell.

But for our purposes...we'll look up, into the heavens since most people believe their God is, well,

"...up there somewhere."

2/
The Bible references three “heavens”.

The heaven where birds fly, the heaven of heavens where stars shine, and the heaven where God has His throne...

...which must be above the others, beyond the others, for clearly they cannot contain Him!

3/
Ephesians 4:10
He that descended is the same also that ascended up FAR ABOVE ALL HEAVENS...

This of course is talking about Christ who came to Earth, lived, died and eventually returned to the place from which He came.

But where IS that place...exactly?

4/
Psalms 8:1
…O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory ABOVE THE HEAVENS.

This gives us an actual distance measurement which puts the throne of God far beyond the observable universe.

But...let's see if we can refine this some.

5/
Psalm 48:2
Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the SIDES OF THE NORTH, the city of the great King.

Mount Zion is the city of the great King.

Since that city is located North, we now have a general direction to look toward in the sky!

6/
The phrase that was used to give the direction is rather vague though.

Where in the three dimensional space that IS space would one know where the SIDES of the North are...

...or is located in the sky?

North has many definitions depending on different things

7/
Astronomically, north is the top of the Earth, the upper end of a line drawn directly through the spinning top that is our planet.

This is true north, the line that points towards the “North Star”

But finding that from a given spot on Earth is harder than you’d think.

8/
Because the Earth rotates daily, most of the stars appear to move in the night sky, though of course they’re not actually the ones moving.

9/
However, the farther you look towards north, the less distance they seem to travel until ultimately, ideally, you find one star that doesn’t seem to move at all throughout the night.

That’s true north.

Well, almost.

10/
The Earth’s rotation is not perfect.

Rather, it’s like a spinning top, which spun perfectly – until you bumped it.

Then, it continues to spin on its axis but also wobbles, orbiting around its axis AND an arbitrary point where you bumped it!

11/
This wobbling is called “precession”, and it causes the northern axis of the Earth to point at different stars over time.

12/
Because of the literally astronomic scale of the wobble, it takes about 26,000 years to complete the wobble-orbit and point at the exact same point in space.

What this means is that what we call the North Star has changed over time.

13/
The point of all this is that, now, Polaris is an almost perfect North Star.

But that’s only been true for a few hundred years.

The farther back in history you go, the farther off Polaris is from true north.

14/
This is a time lapse photo of the northern sky.

The farther you get from the center, the faster the stars seem to travel...

...the longer the streaks are.

Almost in the center, you can see one star that barely moves.

15/
That’s Polaris, the North Star... *TODAY*.

But look at the stars nearby...

...they are not on one side or the other side.

They are rotating around the center point!

Literally on the SIDES of the NORTH!

16/
So a star that is NEAR to the north star would literally appear to be on all sides of it, over time!

As God created the universe, it’s not much of a stretch to say all things revolve around Him.

What better metaphor could there be, than the picture above?

17/
Now 3,000 years ago, there was no perfect north star.

Several stars could be said to be “on the sides of the north”.

Kochab was the closest bright star, but Polaris wasn’t so far away; there was still Thuban relatively nearby.

18/
Psalms 138:2
I will worship ***toward thy holy temple***, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

When King David wrote this Psalm...

...there was NO temple on the Earth!

19/
What's more...David never built a temple to God.

He wasn't allowed to.

So clearly, David worshiped TOWARDS God's temple...

...the one located BEYOND THE SKY!

The one found "in the SIDES of the NORTH"!

20/
Everyone in the world believes in looking DOWN while they pray to their god...but David did the EXACT OPPOSITE!

Psalms 5:3
My *VOICE* shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct *MY PRAYER unto thee, AND WILL LOOK UP.

Up where?

Up THERE!

21/
David also said in Psalms 28:2 that he would "lift up his HANDS toward thy holy oracle".

This means David could have literally used his HAND to SHOW YOU exactly where the temple of God is!

And guess what?

YOU CAN TOO.

It's North!

22/
To find north – and this has been true for 3,000 years – there is a simple trick every schoolboy knows.

First, you locate the big dipper – Ursa Major, or big bear, in Latin – then use the two stars in the bowl and follow them out of the bowl...

23/
...go roughly 5 times the distance between those two stars, and you’ll find...

Polaris.

Bam!

There it is.

North!

24/
The distance you travel from the bowl to find north has changed a bit, but otherwise this has been true for about 2,000 years, and will continue to be true for another 6,000 years or so.

25/
So those two stars point towards True North.

Towards the throne of God.

Thus, you literally use the Big Dipper to find God.

Simple, really.

26/
But now I want to call attention to something you might have already noticed – should have already noticed.

There are SEVEN STARS in the Big Dipper.

So literally, seven stars POINT the way to God.

This is awesome because...

27/
Revelation 1:20
The mystery of the SEVEN STARS which you saw IN MY RIGHT HAND...The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches...

Really!!!

Wow.

Take a look at the Big Dipper and count them up!

Seven Stars!

28/
It is not a stretch to say that the Big Dipper constellation looks like a giant hand in the sky.

It literally looks like a human hand.

Like this one.

29/
If that isn't enough to blow your mind...

Why is it that the Big Dipper constellation has a twin in the sky?

The Little Dipper (Ursa Minor) which also looks like a hand?

The Little Dipper actually includes Polaris (the North Star) as it's tail star!

30/
Ursa Major and Ursa Minor are two HANDS in the sky!

That literally POINT the way to God's throne beyond the heaven of heavens.

They look like hands and they are literally on the SIDES of the North!

31/
The Book of Revelation uses a star to symbolize an angel in at least one (right) hand of #Christ.

What if we were supposed to use these starry hand constellations in the heavens to guide us to #God's throne...

...the place where #Christ sits with His Father?

32/
If yes, this means it is possible, with mathematical precision, for anyone from any age of man to find God.

It means that you simply have to look where the two last stars on God’s “hands” are pointing, and you’ll find the temple of God.

Where exactly?

33/
Just beside the North Star, but never quite truly north of the Earth!

Always on the “sides” of the north!

But you can't know this if your eyes are downcast and even closed while you ask #God where He is.

34/
SO LOOK UP!

And if and when you do, you'll see some other cool things.

Like this guy.

Orion.

He's a seven star constellation too.

Chasing a constellation of seven other stars across the sky with a hunters bow.

But I'll tell you about him later.
