Quickly on Vlade& #39;s tenure. He was given the job b/c he was trustworthy. The previous administration was in over its head, unscrupulous, and was going to war with ownership in the press. While Vlade was not the right guy for the job, he was uniquely suited for that moment.

I admit, if you don& #39;t follow Kings basketball this won& #39;t make a lot of sense. But the franchise nose-dives even worse after the Malone firing if Vlade wasn& #39;t around. No matter what people thought about his acumen, they trusted him, and that& #39;s how high the bar was at the time.

Obviously, at any point in time any franchise can chart a course using best practices and try to get the right people running the right things. Leadership starts at the top.
