the Asian people that are always being referred to in these conversations are East Asians, who have long been the “model minority” and place in closer proximity to whiteness and thus given more access to resources.

i see so many Black folks on here talk shit about Black parents who push their kids out, but those same people aren’t talking about how much the parents struggled to feed, clothe, and house those children for 18 years and how they can’t afford to do it for any longer.

and monetary/economic capital is not going to be what frees us from these cages, y’all. please internalize that.

there is so little grace and care extended to Black parents and it makes me sad because the same level of nuance is never applied.
