slurs- an educational thread
to start off, i’d just like to say there are various amounts of slurs, whether it’s racial or sexist. the main slurs that i’m going to be explaining is the n slur, as it is popularly used by people that should not be saying it.
the n slur was used by white slave owners towards their slaves. it was used in a degrading way. it wasn’t a compliment nor was it a word like “bro” society these days allows and lets people get away with saying it, but please, confront them, educate them.
“i have a pass, my friend is black” okay? passes aren’t just given, and if anyone does give it to you, know your place and DO NOT SAY IT. “i’m hispanic i can say it” no you cannot. this slur wasn’t used towards you, keep in mind not any poc can use this, only black people.
as a hispanic, many people have told me it’s okay to say it, but it isn’t. it’s disrespectful, and just bluntly rude. there’s hundreds of thousands of words that you can use in your daily language, it isn’t hard to not use one, you’ll live.
“can i lip sync it” no, you cannot. this goes to ANY SLUR, if it isn’t towards you, do not lip sync it or actually say it. if a slur is used in a song just close your mouth. stay silent during that 1 second. if you feel like your going to say it+
stop a few seconds earlier, once the slur is said continue to lip sync if you wish. “i have freedom of speech” yes, you do. like i said earlier, it really isn’t hard to just skip a word, replace it with another word that isn’t a slur. please, just be a decent person.
i just made a thread about the r slur if you wanna read https://twitter.com/louiediaries/status/1294745150967681030?s=21 https://twitter.com/louiediaries/status/1294745150967681030
