Ok! Thread/Event! Who are your favourite Black Authors? Pick at least two but as many as you want. Also, feel free to tag them or tweets about their books or their legacy!
Ok it IS possible I made this thread just so I can talk about Langston Hughes again. When I was a little girl of 12-13 we had a major research paper on a Author of our choice. Someone got Langston Hughes on that list and his name shone like a beacon.
I think Langston is one of the greatest writers of the 20th century. His poetry, his plays, his Simple stories. The man captured my imagination like no other. His legacy continues to this day with people like @ericabuddington and the @LangstonLeague and more.
Also @Bonn1eGreer has a new book about Langston Hughes called the Value of Contradiction. And speaking of Black writers my main experience with Bonnie Greer is her amazing podcast In Search of Black History available on Audible(as is the Langston book!)
So tell me your favourite Black authors or start your own thread and share it here Langston Hughes changed my entire life so I want to hear about everyone else's favourite and/or life changers too.
