some stars explode, their light as bright as entire galaxies, while others collapse in on themselves, stuffing all their mass into a tiny yet supermassive blip in spacetime.
there are those zip through the cosmos, exceeding unfathomable velocities of 1,000 miles/hr, exploring pockets of the Universe yet undiscovered.
some stars are so massive, and their photons so many, that the stellar surface simply floats away, forcing the star to disintegrate

others are so small, barely larger than Jupiter, that they live on for trillions of years, bearing witness to the cosmos in a way nothing else can.
some stars are so dense, and spin so rapidly, that their magnetic fields spew high energy cosmic rays across the Universe. their signature beamed radiation allows us to probe their structures and the spacetime they distort.
there are stars that consume neighboring stars, violently and methodically gorging themselves on plumes of gas and plasma.

there are those with popcorn-like convection bubbles that rise and fall across the stellar surface.
and still others that fizzle out and die, calmly fading into the surrounding black abyss.
the Universe is diverse and chaotic and beautiful.

i hope you can see some stars tonight.
