Highly requested thread so I had to do it. Haha. So, tutorials are awesome. But you’ll learn faster if you just build a project. But... that’s easier said than done.
If you don't feel confident enough to build a large app yet, don't. Complete a tutorial and add one simple feature. Maybe it's a button that adds a tiny bit of functionality. Start small.

Create a trello board for your project and break it down into small pieces. It's difficult looking at a giant idea for an app and starting. But if you know you need to just get one small piece working, it's far more achievable.
