Damn it, @ABC. That& #39;s not at all what the CDC guidelines say, and you& #39;re sowing undue fear about reinfection and doubt about vaccine efficacy.

If anything, the CDC guidelines say that people are protected for *at least* three months, not *up to* three months. https://twitter.com/ABC/status/1294360873918771203">https://twitter.com/ABC/statu...
Let& #39;s look at what the CDC guidelines you linked to actually say.

https://cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/quarantine.html

I& #39;ve">https://cdc.gov/coronavir... quoted the relevant part below. The CDC is saying that they consider safe it implement a plan that treats reinfection within a period up to three months as being highly unlikely.
There is nothing at all in the CDC statement about evidence that immunity wanes after three months.

Rather, they are making a recommendation based on positive evidence that immunity doesn& #39;t wane before three months.
And the fact that they& #39;re suggesting a three month window is driven by the availability of evidence.

This is a new virus. We haven& #39;t had enough cases here in the US that are four or five months old to have had time to determine whether you get reinfection after that duration.
So @ABC, you& #39;ve taken a recommendation, and back-inferred a scientific finding that isn& #39;t there.

That& #39;s shoddy journalism when done right. But you did it wrong.

You got it backwards. Your false claim is now spreading rapidly. People are afraid.
