I am sick of the quarantine system, and by inference the border workers, getting blamed for this outbreak. We simply don't know but it has kept us Covid free for months so it obviously works. Even @DrShaneRetiMP said no system works 100% of the time. 1/6

Border workers are being temperature tested every day. You have a temperature, you go home. Much quicker (and cruder) way of assessing health of the front line staff. Otherwise you test daily up the nose and - wait three days? There would be no-one to do the work. 2/6

The "only about 60%" being tested number includes ALL staff when only 280 are actually in contact with returnees. And now they are being tested even more.
This was explained at the 1pm briefings. 3/6

. @hendysh modelled that there would be one case getting through the border every 18 months. Well here we are. We have had months of being Covid free and now we are containing the one that got through. 4/6

And it could have come from a returnee as the testing is only 80% accurate. It is a remote possibility that a returnee has had two false negative tests and gone out into the community. @hendysh modelling shows that one or two might get through over a long period. 5/6

So can we please just breathe, let the health professionals do their job and stop speculating that it was the poor folk that have to rock up everyday, and put themselves in danger at the MIQ facilities, so we can enjoy the freedom we have had. 6/6
