PL players tend to get underrated by fans of PL clubs solely because of how often fans watch them play.

People can figure out what a player is good within minutes of watching a video on YouTube. To know a player's weaknesses, however, you'll have to watch them a lot more. https://twitter.com/dannydoes/status/1294386611707314176
Most Chelsea fans will have watched Chilwell extensively over the last 2 seasons because he plays in the same league, knowing his strengths *and* weaknesses.

On the other hand, they would have watched compilations of Tagliafico or others - videos that show only their strengths.
When a Chelsea fan thinks of Chilwell, they think of his negative traits as well.

When a Chelsea fan thinks of Tagliafico (example), they're likely to think only about the positives. Not because Tagliafico has no negatives, but because the fan probably doesn't know them.
