I deleted this tweet because in retrospect it was poorly worded. It led some people to conclude that I think one person is primarily responsible for a movie’s greatness when I don’t believe that at all. I just want people to appreciate editors more.
That being said, I don’t think it’s a surprise that some of the best movies by particular directors are cut by some of the best editors in history.
This thread is dedicated to my regular filmmaking and writing partner @stevensantos, who is responsible for many of the things people love most about my work in the video essay format.
