Activism thirst propelling you to a range of webinars and reflective spaces, brave enough to use the word racism in clinical spaces to white faces. Through the process, grieving the many lost. the high cost of injustice and an unequal world.
A world finally recognising experiences that have been played out in numerous scenarios across the globe. Attending sessions providing therapy with the sense that now everybody knows,our pain exposed. Everybody finally decided to take a look. Many already active in their activism
Don't just stare & look, capitalise on these themes or that meme, to escalate your career when before you did not deem inequalities worthy of your time or your work. It suited you to sit high on your perch. Satisfied while others thirst in their activism.
New freedom to raise truth without fear of highlighting assumed racial inadequacies or implied card. Social construction of race. Are we now able to speak freely about how life has been hard?Dare we raise hushed topics on colonialism, imperialism&white supremacy. Show their scars
Met with defiance, non-compliance, oppression and historical context cannot be questioned. In their multilayered forms micro-aggressions seek to undermine and keep us towed in line. They've become the norm. No more regression
Restless hurried activism thirst can send you in a range of directions, as it burst forth some diversions can appear to be routes. How do we make sense of our own truth, as we continue to heal others? The processing of re-experienced pain and its every day reign for some family
Implications of inequality are severe and enduring mental health difficulties for the minority who in less desired sections of society are the majority. Societal position on the last rung of the ladder with hands & feet tied. Broken lives and lack of identity further amplified.
Activism thirst born from hurt, can be quenched. We take time out for internal regrouping and uncluttering of the mind. Rest and restoration engaging with our faith. Less can be more. When we stop trying to compensate. Activism thirst tells you not to stop or wait.
