3AM thoughts, levanter ver.
in this thread i'm going to share my thoughts about queen levanter because i feel like this will give me so much comfort at times when i feel very anxious of my future.
i won't link it with the whole stray kids storyboard because that goes too deep but if you have your own thoughts regarding this masterpiece, feel free to share
the music video starts with an elevator reconstructing right in front of them. i know it's become an inside joke already about how they seem to have some elevator fetish but i feel like these redundant appearances hold so much more meaning
i think the elevator represents their dream. what makes their analogy extra special tho is that the elevators never seem to run out. it's trying to tell us that achieving your dream is not a one-time event. it doesn't happen overnight. you just go from one level and onto the next
the next scenes portrayed the lyrics so well. as lee know sang "even though i held you tight with two hands" the mv showed different kinds of dreams we might have been holding too tightly as well. a certain level? some enticing material? an ideal person? an opportunity?
however, when chan forced their way into the elevator they were taken aback. why? because they were greeted by nothing but by wind. in old cartoons, the wind usually signified an empty scene along with a round branch rolling. so did that mean there was no key at all?
but they didn't realize that until later. until lee know saw a bird flying the sky. he must have wondered what it took to soar so freely? then it hit them. they just needed to ride the wind.
and to ride the wind you don't need anything else. you just have to let everything else go because otherwise you'll only be dragged down. which is why the lyrics went "and now that i've left it all behind me, i realized that i can fly."
it's ironic how after letting go were they only able to get hold of the things they wanted. the boundaries suddenly banished and the doors just opened.
the world they entered was no longer purple-tinted. at first i thought they just chose a lavender field because it rhymes with "levanter" (and you know how skz can get with wordplay) but guess what? purple turned out to be the color of imagination.
now that their imagination and reality have merged into one, what's the takeaway here? what was the KEY to their success? the answer was none. at this point you probably have it stuck in your head already but "the key was inside me all along" slaps. all you needed was you.
this frame struck me the most. 'cle' means 'key' in french and instead of saying "find cle" or whatever they just deliberately said "step out." why? because the only time you'll need a key is when you're locked right? and who says you were locked in the first place?
you don't need high grades, a stable job or a well-known reputation to have the right to say you've become successful. stop locking yourselves into your own traps nor obsessing over chains that weren't even there. set yourself free and only then can you find levanter's key.
lmao this thread had so many grammatical errors and redundancies but you know what? instead of letting my virgo pefectionist kick in imma just say "i wanna be myself, i don't care"

in conclusion, stan poetic geniuses. stan @Stray_Kids.
