CURIOSITIES OF HER 4TH STUDIO ALBUM
In Japan, the album was added an extra concept, they tried to give it identity under thephrase "Anata Mo M?" which means "you too M?", the M referencing "Minogue".
Included an extra booklet with pictures from the Rhythm Of Love era and some illustrations, with two pages including several words with M, so the thing would be what meaning would you give to that M to relate it with Kylie and the album.
The japanese release also included a 3" cd with the instrumentals for Word Is Out, What Do I Have To Do? and Step Back In Time.
The dress from the album cover is not remembered by it's original pretty colors and it often comes as a surprise when people see the colours, Kylie mentioned for her Fashion book that she used to love that dress and wear it with little strappy hot pink heels.
The SAW empire was no more, Matt Aiken had left to dedicate full time to motor racing, with their empire completely crumbling, Stock and Waterman continued as a duo with all but Kylie left on the PWL rooster, however this resulted once more into a very tight creative process
Kylie co-wrote 6 of the 10 tracks, her desire to explore, cut her strings and experiment, resulted in her decision to leave PWL. Pete Waterman described making the album as a "nightmare".
Kylie took her creative frustration to her image where she had full control; for the lead single, Word Is Out, Kylie decided to portray a prostitute hanging out with her hooker friends and pimps, although if you see the video now it's pretty harmless, it was pretty controversial
A daytime edit for the Word Is Out video was made and the press was in full rampage by her raunchy image. Pete Watreman who was extremely unhappy angrily stated "Kylie is NOT a prostitute!".
If You Were With Me Now was the first single to be co-written by Kylie, the song was originally called "One Love At A Time".
Kylie and Keith Washington didn't record thesong together and they only met briefly during the video shooting, where they still didn't had any scenes together.
If You Were With Me Now was planned as damage control after Word Is Out and to relaunch Kylie on the US, but plans simply fell through as she didn't had a US label.
I Guess I Like It Like That was released to the clubs prior to the album release and credited to the mysterious "Angel K", the song turned out to be a dancefloor hit but was released as a single with no video, promotion, and without Kylie's knowledge
The Give Me Just A Little More Time video was shamelessly copied almost frame by frame by Take That, three years later for their single Everything Changes.
Finer Feelings was the first time that a Kylie song was released fully with a remix that was not by SAW, the Brothers In Rhythm gave beautiful new life to the song for it's single release.
The Finer Feelings video was also the first time Kylie actually shot a music video in Paris, previously Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi was imagined to be there but it was shot in a stage on Australia, it was also the first time Kylie had a video in just black & white.
The Let's Get To It tour was was theprogression of what had started as the Rhythm Of Love Tour
Celebration was recorded in Let's Get To It sessions, later released on her 1992 Greatest Hits compilation
Say The Word-I'll Be There, Closer and Do You Dare are rejections from this album later used a B-Sides to the singles
