(A wee thread) I keep getting asked whether I intend to seek selection to stand for the Scottish Parliamentary election next year.

For the avoidance of doubt, I won& #39;t be seeking selection.

I intend on completing my current term in full and there& #39;s more still to do for Dundee
Also, please also stop referring to standing as an MSP as a & #39;step up& #39; or & #39;climbing the ladder& #39;. Its neither.

A higher salary does not render something more important.

All politicians play important, albeit different roles, the & #39;bread and butter& #39; issues are what councillors deal with on a daily basis.

Local politics should be seen as an equal and I hope more people stand for council.
