This thread is about Nehru & Savarkar writing about themselves with pseudonyms.
Nehru, in 1937, writes an article for Modern Review with a pseudonym 'Chanakya'. He writes that "the President of Congress (at that time Nehru himself) has all the makings of a dictator in him- (1/n)
-vast popularity, a strong will directed to a well-defined purpose, energy, pride, organizational capacity, ability, hardness, and, with all his love of the crowd, an intolerance of others and a certain contempt for the weak and the inefficient."
“A little twist and Nehru might turn a dictator sweeping aside the paraphernalia of a slow-moving democracy. He might still use the language and slogans of democracy and socialism, but we all know how fascism has fattened on this language and then cast it away as useless lumber.”
In 1926 “Life of Barrister Savarkar” came out, written by ‘ChitraGupta’. He writes "His eloquence exercised a wonderful effect on the masses. the learned nd the wise were ever struck by the polished diction, the charming fluency and the soundness of the argument he had in hand."
“Savarkar is born hero, he could almost despise those who shirked duty for fear of consequences. If once he rightly or wrongly believed that a certain system of Government was iniquitous, he felt no scruples in devising means to eradicate the evil.”
Later the publisher revealed that Savarkar was writing with the pseudonym of Chitragupta.
