I’ve never understood why I’ve caught so many blocks simply by association. I can only think of maybe one block I’ve actually gone out & EARNED myself, & that was on the HMCS account 2 years ago in a particular moment of peak obnoxiousness. (Still kinda proud of that one.)

I have a wide variety of mutuals and IRLs, some of whom don’t get along, which I understand & accept. I generally get along with just about everyone; I’d like to think I have a lengthy track record of that both here and in my non-twitter life.

I’ve been blocked by multiple people with whom I’ve never had a negative interaction, but they’ve had disputes with other mutuals, and apparently I got caught in the crossfire for... not picking sides, I guess? I wish I knew.

To be VERY clear: this thread is not intended to subtweet any one person, because as I’ve said, this is not the first time I’ve been blocked for what I can only assume is my usual strategy of staying out of other people’s disputes. But a block I noticed today was a major bummer.

The various blocks have bothered me for a while, and today’s instance simply helped me formulate some thoughts.

I’d understand if I was a Tr*mp supporter or anti-mask or something horrific like that. But instead, it seems like I catch blocks for trying to be Switzerland.

If you’re mad that I snark on , I get it. And maybe that explains some of the blocks.
