Seeing a lot of "Someone stop this!"/"Someone do something!" tweets re: what's happening with USPS.

Guys. We - YOU - ARE those someones.

Call/email your Senators. ESPECIALLY call/email GOP Senators. Tell them to release the CARES Act & HEROES Act loans for USPS. /1
Start or at least sign a petition in support of saving the USPS. Share your story about why you need the USPS. Encourage others to do the same. Pressure Congress to repeal the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act. /2
Hell, contact the U.S. Treasury and tell Steve Mnuchin to release the funds. The number is (202) 622-2000, email is [email protected]. It will take you five minutes, if that. /3
I can not stress enough how much lawmakers MUST hear from their constituents, from regular people, in order to pass bills. I know. I've experienced it firsthand. Sign up for @resistbot; it does the work for you. Easiest thing ever. /4
But you've gotta do SOME work. WE have to. You reading this right now. Me. All of us. That's what a representative democracy is; that's how this works. Panic-shouting into the void on Twitter isn't going to do it. No one is saving us or the USPS, guys. We have to save ourselves.
P.S. Buying stamps is a Band-Aid, not a cure. It will not fund the USPS and it certainly won't do it in time for mail-in ballots to be mailed to people before the deadlines of many states. By all means, keep buying stamps but don't believe the nonsense it will save the USPS.
