THREAD:
I think this Epic vs. Apple/Google thing is revealing a truth about us.

Epic isn't great. They have lots of problems as a company, including the tendency to try and push for change in the industry with a half-baked idea (Epic Games Store)
But what they're trying to do with these lawsuits (change the industry standard 30% platform cut) is good.

Now here's the important part: you can think Epic is bad, as an entity, and still think what they're DOING is good. But people want to either HATE them or LOVE them.
I've noticed this issue in the American election as well (yes, I'm Canadian, but on the Interweb, we're ALL American, sort of 🇺🇲)

Some people don't like Biden. He's creepy with women/girls, and is barely left-leaning (he's practically right-wing by Canadian standards)
But what Biden is trying to DO is get rid of Trump. That's good. Sure, he might be only slightly better as president, but he'll be better.

What I see people doing is NEEDING to either love or hate Biden. It's an unnecessary dichotomy. Just fricken vote for him.
You don't need to love or hate Epic to see their goal as good. You don't need to be a "Biden supporter" to vote for him.

You don't need to love everything about someone to treat them with respect and kindness.
(To be clear, not talking about Epic/Biden with this last one)
Disconnect yourself from your tribal instincts. Bringing the platform cut down to 12% would be better for developers AND consumers. Google + Apple make enough money.
