so when I started working with Mythical, I was preparing myself to possibly deal with some toxic fans who would hate me. And I was honestly a little worried that being so openly political online would bite me in the ass. As it turns out...

Mythical Beasts are the coolest. Whenever a fan of the show follows me I check their profile and consistently see posts supporting BLM, trans and LGBTQ folks, neurodivergent folks, working class solidarity, and everything that makes my little socialist heart melt with joy.

And those who don’t post about their politics are consistently posting the most empathetic and positive messages. Just pumping raw, uncut kindness into the ether. It’s wild.

And it’s not like GMM is socialist agitprop or anything. It’s an ostensibly apolitical comedy show where 2 homies from the south do challenges, play games and encourage people to be their best. & the result is they have the coolest, most open-minded and radical fanbase I’ve seen.

It’s just wild that creating content that encourages fans to “be your mythical best” is the fastest way to start the revolution. Im just stoked to occasionally be a part of it.
