Ah, Robbie! IDV twitter's favourite little axe-wielding son boy. But what if he wasn't just our son? What if he was more than that?
What if he was also... the Son of God?

Before we start talking about Him, we must ask:
Who is Robbie?
Almost every character in IDV is inspired by something, be it a myth, historical figure, some obscure mid-2000s movie, or just… a stolen character design from Pinterest.
Robbie’s roots are far simpler than that.

THE JUNIPER TREE
It's mentioned multiple times in Robbie's background that he enjoys chopping juniper trees. After his final memory, he wakes up under one. But their significance goes farther than that.
In his deducs, it's specified that he loves the STORY of the Juniper Tree.

The Juniper Tree is a fairy tale published by the Brothers Grimm in 1812.
It's quite hard for me to summarise in tweets, so do go read it here before continuing to read this thread.

Now, we start to see some clear parallels. Headless boy with a sister? Gotta be our boy Robbie! But let's just go through each character from the story in turn, and see how they match up with characters in IDV, starting with Robbie himself.
His surname is literally White. As in, a child as red as blood and as white as snow.
Next of course is the fact that they were both beheaded by something falling on them (a window for Robbie, a chest for the son) and then somehow revived under a juniper tree.
Kinda obvious.

But let's talk about Sister Lorraine, a nun working at White Sand Street who took care of Robbie and his sister.
At first, her role isn't clear. You might say she's meant to be the mother, but she doesn't hate Robbie. She's guilty over his death, as seen in Robbie's Letter.

Who is she? Well, the answer to that lies in the very same letter, my friends.
Here, she states that she is the "parents" of the children. Not just one parent, parentS, plural. Both the mother and father. This suggests she takes on a dual role.

She loves the children, just like the father in the story, but was also involved in Robbie getting a little too much taken off the top, like the mother, and the blame ended up on the sister.
But Lorraine didn't blame Dolores! She felt guilty!
Then what is this?
But Lorraine didn't blame Dolores! She felt guilty!
Then what is this?
Why would it be Dolores' responsibility to fix a window? She's around Robbie's age, and she's even missing an arm! Sure, it was the kids' responsibility to clean the house, but doing repairs is a bit much, especially if it's dangerous enough to take Robbie's head off!
Unless… someone told her it was her fault.
And now we think back to the story of the Juniper Tree, where the mother made it look like the girl had killed her brother.
Now, I don't think Robbie's beheading was intentional. But Lorraine may have... framed the situation in a way.

More interesting facts:
Lorraine's surname is Miller; maybe a reference to the millstone that crushed the mother.
Her nervousness in the letter bears similarities to the mother's after the boy's death.
There's a lot about "truth" and "conscience" in Robbie's deducs and letter.

Now we know how the story of the Juniper Tree is related to Robbie, and who each of the characters represent.
But I promised you more from this thread. This was just the gateway drug into stories about guys who get killed and then resurrected. NOW we're going to talk about Jesus.

But first, before we can know Robbiesus, we must know Dolores, his sister.
In fact, one could say that the intertextual layers forming Dolores' character are not only more complex than Robbie's, but their very existence shapes Robbie's role as a "Jesus" figure.

Dolores' character is influenced by various female roles connected to a boy who had been killed and raised again. Now, we know about the sister from the Juniper Tree, but we can go deeper than that.
The sister, the only one named of the Juniper Tree's cast, is named Marlene.
The sister, the only one named of the Juniper Tree's cast, is named Marlene.
Marlene is a German feminine given name. It is derived from Maria combined with Magdalene.
Mary Magdalene, Jesus' closest and most beloved disciple, who witnessed his crucifixion, burial, and one of the first to witness the empty tomb and Jesus' resurrection.

But we've been beating around the (juniper) bush, haven't we? Why is she named Dolores? Why not Mary?
"Sorrow". "Pain". Robbie's Hunter title in the original Chinese is "Crybaby"
"To chop". What else does Robbie do with that axe?
And finally.
The Mother of Jesus.

It wouldn't be that much of a stretch to say that after the death of their parents, Dolores would have to care for Robbie, much like a "mother".
(It's certainly intriguing that Dolores' name carries so many links to the Hunter Axe Boy's identity, while the name Robert simply means "bright" and "fame", but I'm not speculating on that for now.)
The rest of Robbie's story is littered with Christian themes, some more obvious than others. Like how after it was taken from Kreacher, White Sand Street was run by a Father Duke and nuns. Exploring the map in-game, one can find various biblical paintings adorning the walls.
Robbie's deducs reference angels, saints, and Lorraine's letter on his character day literally quotes the bible.
Number 4. of his deducs describes a "hydrotherapy" procedure that mentions washing heads to cleanse the "overly-violent and extreme parts of life".

Much like how one would purify someone via baptism.
And we can infer that Robbie underwent this procedure, because it mentions a "boiled medicinal infusion" after treatment, and one of Robbie's dislikes is "herbal medicine".
In other words, Robbie was metaphorically christened.

And the last, and possibly wildest piece of evidence I have for this theory, is Robbie's character day.
Some character days are based off real-life events, like Jack's being the Ripper's possible first murder IRL, or Hastur's being the date Haita the Shepherd was published.

But April 25th is a pretty vague date. We're gonna need a year to claim its significance other than "the day Robbie died".
We know that Emma is 22 when she takes part in the game in 1898.
No. 8 of her deductions states that at age 8, she begins staying at White Sand Street Orphanage. This would be in 1884.
No. 10 of her deducs describes her undergoing electroshock therapy at age 14.

WSS must have been converted into an asylum between 1884 and 1890. We know that Robbie's death happens some time after the orphanage was converted into an asylum.
This timeline is vague, but I've found a possible date around these years that could be Robbie's death year.

Because on April 25th, 1886, it was Easter.
For both the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches, it was Resurrection Sunday.
What day could be more significant to Robbie?

What day could be more significant to Robbie?
For it was the day He died, the day He came back to life, and the day that brings all the biblical resurrection symbolism in His story full circle.
Robbie. Is. Jesus.

Addendum: There's a lot of questions still unanswered about Robbie and the whole of the WSS storyline, but this thread isn't attempting to answer them.
Why was Robbie kept away from Dolores? Is Dolores actually "Axe Boy"? Who did the WSS incident?
IDK, but Robbie is Jesus.
