why throwing around the words delulu and delusions and delusional is harmful to people who actually suffer from it, an informative thread:

the definition of delusion is : A belief or altered reality that is persistently held despite evidence or agreement to the contrary, generally in reference to a mental disorder.

now why we shouldn't throw around the word:
1) it's harmful to those who actually experience delusions in their life
2) you are belittling the struggles of people who delusional behaviour due to disorders

in regards to where I see it being used I see it among my peers in the kpop community,
" oh my god I'm so delulu for so and so"
you shouldn't say that if you've never ever experienced what a delusion is like.

some delusions come with hallucinations and it's not funny to use the word as a joke.

now from my personal experience,
due to my mental health issues I experience delusions and I have to suffer through the delusion because they're of the non-bizzare type,though I'm aware of the delusions I have I cannot change what I feel. I've seen too many -

people use it and it's bothering me so much when I'm suffering like this.

when you talk about fans please refrain from using these words, especially for sasaengs, find other words.

it paints a harmful image of anyone who actually suffers from delusions or delusional disorders.

I don't have much more to add here but I just needed to address this issue. if anyone else would like to add on to this thread please let me know because I've only spoken from my mental health experience.
