My take away from the Jreg conversation is that a LOT of people find a (false) comfort in irony, sarcasm and nihilism, especially the younger generations. So much so that it's almost frowned upon to be sincere in your actions or ideas.
This is how modernity 'gets you' btw, nothing is true or real, so why not just smoke it up and care about nothing, it's so lazy and obnoxious.

The modus operandi of modernity is simply to get you to find meaning in nothing but your most immediate desires.
I doubt I'll do an interview like that again. I cultivated Hermitix to be serious and sincere, to take all guests and their ideas seriously and genuinely become interested in them. I believe I've succeeded somewhat, because the community is always open to sincere discussion.
My blog writing on modernity has helped a lot of people become happier and more content in life. The hardest thing is accepting that you can drag a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. Ones best efforts are to make it clear that those other options exist.
