Interesting update here. At first I thought delay was due to NRC view on helical stream generator, but looks like it's because owners wanting to use dry cooling. For those who don't know, dry cooling is much more expensive than wet cooling. And I suspect this 'dry condensing' may be more expensive than standard (passive) cooling towers. https://www.nei.org/news/2020/nuclear-solution-for-climate-energy-water
It's basically awesome that they want to add this to the NuScale UAMPS project. Can see it helping to open up more off grid applications for SMRs. But it won't get you the cheapest price, and is unlikely to be standard for all future projects - especially on-grid ones
