Zhoushan islands is about 587 KM away from Taiwan Strait..

So this military exercise was said to be finished due to the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan was just in the nearby offshore waters on East China Sea waving hello to PLA.

So anyway, China proceeds with the Next drill, it is said to start from August 14th to 15th, a total of 2 days from 6 am to 12 am. Again with live ammunition training to be conducted in the waters near Baisha Island, Taizhou. (3/x)

During live firing, any ship are prohibited from entering the waters within these Geodetic Coordinate System:

(1) 28-50.75N 121-41.75E (2) 28-50.42N 121-50.42E (3) 28-42.47N 121-46.43E (4) 28-43.02N 121-40.08E

So why did China always pick the drill location so far away from the Taiwan Strait or even Taiwan and yet they kept threatening to invade Taiwan every time?
