Would I be in the position I'm in (journalist/editor, living in London, masters graduate) without going to private school? Absolutely not, and that's the exact problem

Not only cause a private school looks good on a CV, but because I was a little shit bag and my teachers had the time, mental headspace, support and means to make me work hard

I've struggled with the privilege of going to a private school over the last few years and my default position has always been to defend it out of respect for my parents who worked so hard to send me there

But the societal inequalities private schools not only perpetuate but also create are overwhelming. Time for them to go
