After requesting a few learnt scholars here to provide some detail on the topic and seeing their busyness, I decided to post a thread on the braid of women based purely on what I heard from Shri Ramayana Pravachanam. The actual braid is made of 3 locks of hair.

The front part shows a line which divides the hairs towars the either sides. The line gradually disappears as it deepens when there's a single braid. Now as shown in the first pic there are 3 locks and the line disappears into the middle one. This style has yogic significance+
Though not the exact way of platting, a typical braid would look like two snakes on either sides. However the third one would not be visible despite being there. The three locks of hair effects the Idā, Pingalā and Sushumnā nādis of the person, which is why it is a healthy +
practice to braid the hair. A lock of hair is called vEni. Now three locks: tri-vEni, denoting the Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati sangamam. The third lock is not straightforwardly visible just like Saraswati. I wish there is more research done on this and Bharatheeya Strees get back+
to the healthy ways. Before calling me a misogynist, I am all for the men having Shikha. But unfortunately, we've lost it except for the Brahmins and a few Vysyas. Shikha has its own significance too, which I don't know of. But given that our ancestors have had it, I believe we +
must too. It's in the women's hands to make the men take to the good old Sanskari days. Men need to be forced to follow. Swami Vivekananda said, "If ever Bharatheeya sanskar has withstood time, it's because of the women of the nation." Let's get back to healthier ways! 🙏🏽.
